We have organised the material we found in Julia’s home and studio and retained a core element of what we found for posterity. It was Julia’s wish that most of her work be dispersed so it could be enjoyed by people who appreciated it. This has been achieved through a series of exhibitions in 2024, 2025 and those planned for 2026.
We have journals and sketchbooks, preparatory works, studies in months or hours of the same or different views, posters, private view invitations, objects from her studio, memorabilia, photographs and slides, as well as a copy of nearly every print and etching she produced.
We are distributing material to relevant local collections and by the end of 2026 will be able to clearly list where the different elements are held. It has been impossible for us to locate everything together but, with one exception, all the collections will be in Cambridge or Ely.
Julia kept good slide records and we have endeavoured to record a lot of the work that has recently been sold or that is still held by us. The photographs are not of high quality but they are good enough as a visual record for further exploration if studying her work.
